Collagraph printing: a feel for texture

This course will cover how to make collagraph printing plates by gluing a variety of materials onto board to create an image, how to ink the plates and print using my floor-standing etching press. All plate-making and printing materials will be provided but feel free to bring along any object or image (drawing or photo) that you would like to use as the basis for your print, and any additional materials: fabrics, threads, textured papers and natural materials (which should be flat and completely dry).

This two day workshop will give you time to become familiar with the technique and to experiment with different ways of inking the plate, for instance combining intaglio and relief inking methods.
