Ruth has worked in a wide range of settings, with people from 3 to 83 years and with diverse abilities.

She has experience of children and adults from disadvantaged backgrounds, and children with special needs, and has also worked in independent schools.

Long term residencies include Drumcroon in Wigan and St Peter's School in York.

She has worked in many primary and secondary schools and in Further Education and has also considerable experience of other situations, such as gallery workshops (Tate Liverpool, Whitworth Art Gallery, Chester Grosvenor Museum and Oriel Corwen), holiday arts workshops and play schemes (Peterborough Arts Centre) and festivals (Woodfest).
